ABOUT THE EVENT
As the year turns toward darkness and the veil grows thin, we gather to remember who we come from.
Our ancestors are not gone. They live in our bones, our breath, our patterns, and our longings. Their unfinished grief moves through our families. Their wisdom waits to be remembered. The health of our relationships, present and future, is tied to how well or unwell our dead are. When the ancestors are honored and at peace, life flows more freely through the living.
Here on Turtle Island/United States, so many of us carry a deep ancestral disconnection. Colonization, forced migration, displacement, assimilation, and the theft of land and lineage have severed countless people from their names, languages, ceremonies, and graves. Many of us don't know where our people are buried or what songs they sang. This disconnection is not a personal failing. It is a wound many of us share, and it can be tended.
This day is an invitation to open that pathway. We will work with intergenerational trauma not only as something to heal within ourselves but as a relationship to repair with those who came before. We will reach toward our well ancestors, the ones who carried love, resilience, and wisdom, and ask them to walk with us.
Together we will:
Build a collective ancestral mandala from natural materials, offerings, and objects that carry the memory of our people
Share stories of the ones we come from, the known and the unknown
Share a potluck feast, feeding one another and setting a plate for the ancestors
Practice traditional forms of ancestral honoring and offering
Journey through a three-hour breathwork ceremony to meet what lives in the body and the lineage
Close with integration so you leave grounded, held, and carrying something whole
Fire ceremony, cider, and community as weather permits
You do not need to know your family history to belong here. You do not need to have a good relationship with your living family. Adoptees, those estranged from family, and those whose lineages were deliberately erased are warmly welcomed. The ancestors know how to find us.
We gather in gratitude on Dakota homeland, honoring the original people of this land and their ancestors, who are still here.

“Your breath is the first thing you meet when you are born and the last thing you do before you go…it’s constantly with you, the friend and ally you didn’t know held the wisdom you were longing for…”

Breathwork offers a multitude of benefits for both physical and mental well-being. By consciously controlling and focusing on your breath, you can significantly reduce stress and anxiety, promoting relaxation and inner calm. Additionally, breathwork can enhance energy levels, improve sleep quality, and boost the immune system. On a mental level, it can sharpen focus, increase concentration, and facilitate emotional release, leading to greater self-awareness and emotional resilience. When practiced in a group setting, the process is often amplified through the container, helping us explore themes around our interrelatedness. Breathwork provides a simple yet powerful tool for improving overall health, quality of life, and connecting with your source energy.
Immerse yourself in a transformative journey guided by your breathwork facilitators, Mari and Greg. Blending years of experience with somatic therapies, trauma healing modalities, energy work, and meditative practices, we strive to create spaces for profound transformation for each of you.Through a powerful combination of mind-body techniques, including breathwork, mindfulness, and energy healing, you'll break free from limitations, release emotional burdens, and ignite your inner spark.
Discover the profound healing power of breathwork as you connect with your intuition and access a deeper level of consciousness. Our group breathwork sessions are a powerful catalyst for lasting change. We invite you to breathe with us and awaken into the wholeness of who you are!
